I got bored and my car is shiny, so I decided to experiment with some nighttime photography. Note to self: find better locations to shoot next time.
Tried shooting through the window for interior shots, but there were too many reflections so I ended up rolling it down.
This angle was a bitch to get. Still not quite the right focus either. Oh well. Vive las Manuéls!

That's pretty cool! If you can bump up the exposure a lot, you can do crazy things like this:
Note the stars in the background.

If you haven't already, invest in a remote shutter release (cable or wireless). Also mirror lockup helps on a long exposure on a tripod. If you have the camera setup on a tripod, kill the image stabilization if you can/are equipped with it.
In low light situations I tend to use the back screen on my 7D to help as far as focus. Manual is the way to go in low light an a tripod.

Thanks for the advice! I was already manually focusing, but I hadn't thought of turning off the image stabilization. That would help a bit. I was thinking the whole time how much easier it would be if I had a remote, too. Especially when I had to climb into the back seat to get the shots of the dash that I wanted X-X

Yeah! I had a couple of shots like that; they looked like I was in broad daylight and it freaked me out, haha. I was mostly fooling around to see what I could do and how to do it; I just picked out a few artistically to post because I thought they worked the best together. I might need some cleaner light sources to do it like that though. All I had were street lights and they made so many tiny bright reflections it wasn't even funny.

This was out in the middle of nowhere, so it was mostly just moon and the odd car headlight, with some bleedover from distant camps' propane lights.
Keep it up, I want to see more from a better location!
